Our third quarter Pillar is Communication!
Your child’s ability to communicate with confidence will determine how well they cope with our ever-changing world! Are they filled with anxiety or a lack of confidence? US Budokai Karate will help your child stand tall, use eye contact and speak clearly with confidence!
Successful communication is far more than sharing information; it is also an understanding of the feelings behind this information. Successful communication can deepen and improve all relations in life. Developing communication skills can help us avoid conflicts, learn to compromise, and assist in better decision-making.
Junior and Teen Students are challenged quarterly based on the current pillar to earn Gold Stripes for advancement. Our first Communication challenge is Manners!! Take-home sheets went out this week to help direct our students’ minds to be on their BEST MANNERS for at least one week!! Gold Stripe challenge sheets are available at the dojo!
Leadership students who complete a minimum of 5 challenges will be invited to a Pizza Party-Game Night Supersession Friday, October 7! Parents, YOU will earn a night off – details TBA!! Leadership Challenge sheets are also available at the dojo to start tracking your communication habits now!
Lessons this quarter will include understanding emotions, verbalizing with “I” statements, practicing acts of kindness, positive self-talk, positive affirmations, and the importance of punctuality! When good communication becomes a habit, confidence builds and we live happier lives with less anxiety and fear!
