From the Dojo Desk: Summer Training

After months of cold weather and staying indoors, summer is just around the corner!

We would like to take this opportunity to remind students and their families that with the summer weather comes other activities and trips that make it easy to lose focus on training in the dojo. The commitment to karate does not begin or end with the change of seasons, nor should one’s practice suffer because of overscheduling or too many activities. With school being on break, this is a great time to reevaluate priorities and strengthen commitments to what benefit the student and their family the most. No one likes to feel spread too thin, and no one likes to fall behind in activities that are meant to bolster self-esteem and a sense of mastery. Consistent training in the martial arts positively effects all areas of life like no other activity can accomplish.

At USBKA, we understand that the summer presents unique opportunities, trips, and events. We encourage our students to make up classes if they have to miss. The option to take three classes or more a week or to utilize the backroom for extra practice is always available. Please feel free to speak with the front desk if you have any specific concerns regarding summer training conflicts.

Did You Know… We offer a college student summer program at discounted rates? College student members who maintain a summer membership with us are welcome to attend classes during holidays and breaks all year long!
