AAU Competition Team
U.S. Budokai Karate participates in the Amateur Athletic
Union (AAU) Karate Program. Competing in the Adirondack Association of
Region 1 we have successfully fielded teams at the Association, Region and
National levels.
We believe that students should periodically compete in
tournaments as they provide excellent training motivation. Tournaments
also provide the adrenaline-fueled environment (under controlled duress) which
simulates a real fight and therefore the perfect venue for testing ones skills.
Performing in kata, kumite or kobudo events are also excellent ways for a
student to gauge his or her progress.
