Roy Goldberg Sensei will be at Dewey’s Martial Arts Center for a 2 day seminar August 20 – 21, 2016. (additional dates below)
Roy Goldberg Sensei received the Hiden Ogi or 3rd Scroll, in Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu Kodokai on June 3, 2016. Sensei Goldberg is the first non-Japanese practitioner of Daito Ryu to ever receive this honor. This is a direct lineage transmission from Takeda Sensei to Kodo Sensei, to Inoue Sensei and, to Goldberg Sensei. It is especially a personal honor for Sensei as Inoue Sensei is the last living practitioner to have studied (as a boy) with Takeda Sensei in the Kodokai.

What’s being said about Sensei …
When Evan Goodrow was asked by one of the most senior Shihan Aikidokas the events of [his training] … He asked me “what did I learn”?, “I told him that I probably learned more about the Diato-ryu system in 4 hours than I might in 4 years at a dojo. To feel him is to feel an “aiki body” , the “drop” and the connected nature of it all. [Sensei has] …the hand placements that were lost to Aikido, or at least, to the masses. His is a shining example of a seeker that has done and continues to do the work. If there is a chance to train with Roy Goldberg again, I’d be there.” – Evan Goodrow
Don’t miss an opportunity to train with Sensei!
Goldberg Sensei recently taught a special class with Dan Hardan Sensei and his students were interested in the movement in Daito Ryu that parallels Hardan’s powerful techniques. They will be doing a seminar together November 11-13, 2016 as “Opposite Ends of the Same Coin” in Massachusetts.
Future training opportunities with Roy Goldberg in Albany, NY include the following dates for 2016/2017:
October 22 & 23, 2016
December 3 & 4, 2016
March 18 & 19, 2017
